I’ve noticed that no matter how many planners or reminders I set, my focus falls apart halfway through the day. Sometimes I can push through, but most days I just feel drained. I’ve been trying to balance a side project with my regular job, and I keep hitting that wall where my energy just disappears. I’m starting to think it’s less about doing more and more about finding the right routines to keep me steady. Has anyone found a good way to create that balance without burning out?

I’ve found that the toughest part is usually maintaining energy, not finding motivation. Motivation can come and go, but energy is what keeps you going through the week. When you build routines that naturally restore you — whether it’s short breaks, journaling, or simply logging how you feel — it makes a big difference. Over time, those little habits act like guardrails. Instead of pushing yourself harder, you end up working smarter because you’re aware of when you need to slow down and reset.
