Much \"misunderstanding\" about X-Enviro 1.09. Let's be honest: who looks up carefully to clouds Also: the \"high\" development-price tag from X-Enviro, BUT: do we want \"dynamic realistic weather\" in X-Plane or not Beyond a shadow of doubt X-Enviro has developped the most realistic automatic \"weather\" plugin for X-Plane 11 to this day and... it offers more for the money: a crisper shadowed HD terrain. Question: is a dynamic, quasi-3D environmental system 3 or 5 lines of code and a few drawings Why would X-Plane NOT introduce a realistic weather system, calculating and plotting it when such work is only a bagatel Well, it's not. Obviously XE has choosen for the 'world's standard for atmospheric modelling': the Perez-system ( All-Weather Sky).
Now we learn that \"Perez\" is based on measurements and formulas made on 21 June at 12 'o clock (high noon) near New York. Implementing this global weather system is a HUGE work. Honestly, I can understand why the \"high\" price, that in some cases is equal or higher than XP11 itself... Some offer cloud-systems and/or global METAR-data for $200/yr. only, mind you! Surely the price of XE an investment in the future. It simply brings the world wide METAR data, automatically renewed (see Settings), visually to your desktop, improves the scenery. Well, quite an understaking. It is up to you to join the group of \"realistic\"-simmers. And if not \"flying with the weather\" (with wind-driven clouds), just stay with the good, billboard XP-clouds. As simple as that... Use \"SAT24\" or another sat-weather-pic site to find your weather if not using XE, or to find the nearest airport if you do. Do mind however -- METAR data relate to (nearest) airports and between them may be a different weather system! Satellite images can show this. I was confronted with this flying from LEAL Alicante to LEVC Valencia these days. A torrential rain system was over Javea, causing severe inundations there, however flying there in scattered clouds... METAR has its limitations.
Thanks to our partner Hendrik Haupt (author of Enviro Sky & Weather), Atavism has dedicated out of the box Enviro for Atavism Limited Edition (includes all Enviro features except Volumetric clouds and Volumetric lights). This system uses Adams Goodrich free WAPI integration, so you can use CTS or any terrain shader, or even Global Snow from Kronnect to cover your terrain and objects with snow, start falling snow from the sky and all synchronized between clients. You can define weather profiles and set a month for which the server applies them. You can define the priority for each, so snow can be preferred 10 times more than the sunny profile. You can set how fast the server time will move, and much more.
3 Getting started It's really easy to setup enviro in your project! Import the package and follow these easy steps to get started! 1. Drag and drop the \"EnviroSky 1.8\" prefab (\"Enviro - Dynamic Environments\" -> \"Prefabs\") into your scene. 2. Assign your \"Player Object\" and your \"Player Camera OR check AssignInRuntime and fill in your Tag s. 3. You are ready to go! Further settings to check: ü Disable other directional lights in your scene! ü For best visuals use \"Linear Color Space\"! ü Enviro uses one layer for cloud and one layer for satellite rendering. Defaults: 30, 31 ü Do not use Desktop and Mobile version in same project, it won t work! Attention! Sometimes the import of Enviro can fail and not all settings are applied. This will most likely break the system. The fix is easy, just reimport the package and do not delete the enviro folder. All Settings should be applied corretly now!
8 Clouds In the Clouds category of EnviroSky component you are able to setup the different layers, clouds altitude, wind animations and cloud lighting. The actual clouds colors and coverage will be controlled in each weather type. For more details about each setting hover over the elements please. The Clouds Render Quality will influence the performance hit of clouds dramaticly. Try to use Low settings for best performance. The visual difference should be not visible. Also check each clouds layer Quality setting for better performance. With right setup you should be able to run enviro even on older graphic cards. All these settings can be changed on runtime. To apply changed values call: EnviroSky.instance.InitClouds (); If you want to apply settings in editor you just need to toggle (disable/enable) the EnviroSky component. The clouds color, lighting influence and alpha is controlled in each weather type. If you setup less layers in weather type than you got globaly the missing layer will be excluded and not rendered for this weather. 59ce067264
